Accidents happen.

My favourite story is the one of the hockey player took his mouthguard out to swear at the referee for a foul.

The few seconds was all it took for a stray ball to fly in his direction and land on his teeth. I was working at the time and saw the carnage. And the many, many dental visits to repair things. I knew this guy’s teeth would never be the same again.

Moral: Wear a mouthguard whenever you play sport. Even if you need to swear at the ref.
